He didn’t have to perform a benefit concert on a Saturday. But Grammy Award winner Chris Botti did so, because youth arts and music is near and dear to him. So he gave it his all, and so did his remarkable band of world-class musicians. YACster Angela Bomarito's poster for Chris Botti Concert, trumpet and calla lily KSBW hosted, with front man Jim Vanderzwaan, and did a tremendous job of spreading the word. Seems like everyone else from the press embraced the event: Herald/GO, Californian, McWeekly, Off68, Carmel Pine Cone. Co-sponsors Kennedy, Archer & Giffen, Hearst Media Services, Alain Pinel Real Estate, Scheid Vineyards, Community Collision Center stepped way up to the plate. Yacster Angela Bomarito painted this stunning image for the concert poster. And Patrick Tregenza photographed it for us. Most importantly, Monterey Rotary is the group of angels who put this all together and stuck their necks out in the first place. Rotarians  spent countless hours/days in the planning stages- hello Frank Geisler and David Lee. And our Board, parents, and Friends Of YAC also joined the many volunteers at the concert itself.  Do art. Be kind. It’s the motto that drives all of us here at YAC. And clearly, with the massive effort it took to pull off such an incredible event, everyone did their own particular kind of art, (including the art of philanthropy), and most certainly practiced kindness. We have just witnessed and benefited hugely from one of those remarkable moments in community partnership, for which YAC(Youth Arts Collective) is deeply, deeply grateful.
