A letter from the new Directors
Dearest YAC Friends,
From the bottom of my heart, I’d like to thank you for showing your support for YAC throughout this leadership transition. I am honored to serve as its new Executive Director alongside my good friend and new Program Director, Marissa Serna. Every word of encouragement, visit to the studio, arts supply donation, and the overwhelming support shown via MCGives is a testament to how dedicated our community is to uplifting our young people.
As a YAC Alumnus (2001-2005), being a part of this community was crucial to my emotional development and confidence. It was here that myself and my fellow YACsters built friendships and bonds that have lasted to this day. I am thankful that YAC was there for my friends and I when we needed it.
I am also thankful for the affirming and nurturing professional mentorship YAC founders, Marcia & Meg, have provided for Marissa and myself over the past few months. Their mentorship has reminded me of why I have dedicated myself to YAC. The unwavering empathy & compassion our mentors and founders put into their relationships with our YACsters is unparalleled. Marissa and I are dedicated to ensuring that light lives on for generations to come.
