YACalum Ben Anderson in solo show at PG Art Center!

Ben Anderson painting of pianist and cello player

YACalum Ben Anderson is exhibiting his paintings in a solo show at the Pacific Grove Art Center during the month of September! He says of the exhibit that, "My purpose is to capture discrete moments of musicians and their expressions during their creative mode. A constant source of inspiration for me as an Artist are two modes of art, visual art and music. Fusing these two forms of art into music inspired paintings of musicians helps express my artistic voice."The Arts Council for Monterey County awarded Ben a grant for this show, and he says he couldn't have done it without their support.Ben began an MFA program at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in Ohio in August, but will fly to Monterey to attend the show's reception on September 1st!

Don't miss the opening reception, Friday Sep. 1st 7-9pm, Pacific Grove Art Center

Ben also remarked that, "Youth Arts Collective has left a strong mark on my creative endeavors, and I hope to continue the culture of YAC in the academic world. We need more YACs!"

Congratulations, Ben!
