YACsters exhibit in For the Love of Art!

For the Love of Art began at the Carmel Art Association in 1947, together with Carmel High School. The purpose was to stimulate interest in high school visual arts education courses and inspire young art students to continue creating and exploring their talents. The CAA renewed that original goal in a formalized way in 2013-2014 with the Carmel Art Association’s For The Love of Art, which is now an annual part of the CAA’s calendar showcasing the efforts of 70 to 80 young Monterey County artists each year. Currently all high schools in Monterey County are invited to select 5 junior and/or senior students to submit pieces, and we are so excited to have 6 YACsters participating this year! Raven Cook, Lorena Hernandez Rivera, Samantha Hernandez, Audrey Dost, Salvador Perez and Gaby Contreras Oseguera have all made gorgeous pieces for the exhibition, which are all up now through February 15th.

The opening reception is Saturday, February 10, 5-7 pm
