Alana Gamino
she/her

Nature and art have been intertwined in my life for many years. I’ve always had a great fascination for both; from hiking in the soothing environment of the forest and gazing up at the rustling canopy of leaves, to depicting wildflower gardens in envelopes, refracting sunlight through prisms, and sculpting miniature trees from a sea of wire. The beauty and natural patterns of nature have shaped my creative expression into what it is today. I have no set art medium that I’ve refined over the years. Instead, my medium has varied throughout my life and to this day remains diverse. I am fond of drawing flowers and greenery on birthday cards, signifying my admiration for plants and their beauty. I enjoy sculpting polymer clay rats, hinting at my affection for rodents. I patiently thread string through beads to construct a suncatcher, so that someone’s room may be filled with morning rainbows and bring a smile to their face. Most of all I find great joy in twisting wire into awe inspiring trees, hoping to capture the essence and fluidity of those great Oaks that I deeply admire on hikes. Each piece of art is a little piece of me and what I find beautiful in this world. I hope you find it beautiful too.
